They are inside your head.

There's nothing Dru Sharma fears more than the dentist. So when his school runs a compulsory dental check, Dru convinces his identical twin, Kal, to take his spot.

What the twins don't realise is the check-up has been initiated by Infinity Group, a mysterious organisation aiming to control the hearts, minds and bodies of the world's youth. Using high-tech electronic implants. Infinity plans to create an army of young soldiers who can be manipulated to obey any order.

With Dru 'Unlisted' and outside Infinity's control, it's a race against time to uncover the truth of the operation. Alongside a group of underground vigilante teens, Dru and Kal will have to do whatever it takes to stop Infinity Group before it's too late.

My Review

Thoughts on the book: The Unlisted is the first book in the new trilogy written by Justine Flynn and Chris Kunz and is based off the TV show by the same name shown on ABC tv. When Dru learns that there is going to be a dentist visit at school he becomes really worried. He hates the dentist and while in line he convinces his brother to go in again and pretend to be him.  Little does Dru know that by asking his brother to do this he is asking for a lot more than just a dental checkup. Suddenly everyone in the class seems to be under some sort of spell except for Dru. When the teacher comes in with the iPad everyone looks up and does what she says and they all seem to have a blank stare on their face. They also suddenly seen super strong and can run faster than ever.  But when one of Kal's best friends goes missing after not going to the dentist the boys discover that there is something more sinister going on and investigate what it could be. This investigation leads them to finding some new friends that also seem to be unlisted and when one of them is hurt they need to ask their auntie for help. But is there auntie helping them or is she working for the other side? What does this corporation that is implanted these things in the kids teeth want and who can they trust if they can't even trust their own family or friends?

A massive thank you to the hatchet team for my review copy of The Unlisted by Justine Flynn and Chris Kunz. I was thrilled when I receive the book and put it on my TBR pile for September.   It was the first book I read this month and I quickly flew through it in one sitting. It's hard to write too much for this review without giving a lot of it away so this will be short and sweet review. You know you've got a really good book when you pick it up and you immediately can't put it down and The Unlisted was this for me. It was so amazing and such a quick read that I couldn't believe it when I turn to the final page and there was no more. Despite the book being aimed towards the middle grade genre I really loved it and it certainly left me the next book to find out what happens next to Dru and Kel and their friends. It had plenty for everyone and certainly kept very close to want typical teenagers would act like if this was to happen to them you would hope.

I think the concept that the authors have gone for is something that we haven't really seen much of and it was nice and refreshing. I really loved the twins grandma, Dadi as she was absolutely hilarious and you can tell the twins really respect her and value her opinions. I loved that the twins would do anything for each other including going to a dentist visit. I can't wait to read the other two books in the trilogy and will be passing this one along to my oldest son to read. I think I'll leave and check out the TV show as well to see if it lives up to the book.
