Deja and Josiah are seasonal best friends.

Every autumn, all through high school, they've worked together at the best pumpkin patch in the whole wide world (not many people know that the best pumpkin patch in the whole wide world is in Omaha, Nebraska, but it definitely is). They say goodbye every Halloween, and they're reunited every September 1.

But this Halloween is different Josiah and Deja are finally seniors, and this is their last season at the pumpkin patch. Their last shift together. The last goodbye.

Josiah is ready to spend the whole night feeling melancholy about it. Deja isn't ready to let him. She's got a plan: What if instead of moping they went out with a bang? They could see all the sites! Taste all the snacks! And Josiah could finally talk to that cute girl he's been mooning over for three years...

What if their last shift was an adventure?

My Review
Thoughts on the book: Pumpkinheads is the new graphic novel from #1 New York Times bestselling author Rainbow Rowell and author of Friends with Boys Faith Erin Hicks. This is the last year that Josiah and Deja will be working together at the pumpkin patch. Deja decides this is the year that Josiah is finally going to talk to the girl that he has been pining after for the last few years. So she decided that they will leave their normal post and go to the other one which is nearer to the girl. But what follows is an adventure throughout the pumpkin patch with Deja trying every food available in Josiah getting morrow more worked up when the girl of his dreams seems to be everywhere but where they are. Will the girl of Josiah's dreams live up to his expectations and will this be the best night the duo have ever had at the pumpkin patch?

A massive thank you to the team at Pan MacMillan Australia for sending me a copy of Pumpkinheads by Rainbow Rowell and Faith Erin Hicks to read and review. This was my first Rainbow Rowell novel and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I found this a very quick, easy read that was very cute and very suitable to the YA genre. It had something for everyone and a Halloween theme around it was very fitting to the book.

The relationship between Deja and Josiah was so cute and you can tell that they care a lot about each other despite only being friends during the pumpkin patch season. It was very interesting to see some of Deja's previous relationships and some of them were not what I was expecting at all which was awesome. I adored going through the pumpkin patch with Deja and Josiah and seeing the pumpkin patch through their eyes and seeing how much they would miss it once they have had the last day.

The ending in this book was so cute and was kind of expected but it was written so it didn't matter that it was expected you could get over that and enjoy it just the same. For my first Rainbow Rowell novel I absolutely adored this and my next read after this was actually Carry On (and of course I throughly enjoyed it and am now moving on to Wayward Son).
