My review
Thoughts on the book: Firstly I would love to say a massive thank you to Zoe from Random House Australia for sending me Agent Nomad: The Eleventh Hour for review and for being so patient in waiting for this review.
Natalie Palladino is attending school like normal, going to a special school assembly but it's here where things start to change. John Smith come to talk to the school about the Brighter Future Program and brings out a small black bar that emits a light that knocks poor Natalie off her seat and this is where everything changes. That night someone tries to break into her house but not by normal means and Natalie recieves a message from a number she doesn't recognise: 'The Inductors are coming. Get out Now.' And so escaping she runs into the mysterious John Smith and learns that she has Socery powers and that she is a special type of sorcerer, a Witness which means she can read other people's powers. And so begins her journey to become a HELIX agent. The journey will be long and hard with many surprises along the way but with her new friends beside her and her new code name, Nomad, nothing will stop her.
I loved Agent Nomad-The Eleventh Hour. It reminded me a lot of the Gallagher Girl books by Ally Carter (minus the magic part in there case) which I loved when I was growing up. I loved the magic side to the story, or Socery as its called in this series, and how it was described in a way I hadnt really read about before which was really refreshing to see. Nomad, aka Natalie, is a very easy character to love and sympathise with as she has had her whole world turned upside down in the matter of days and it doesn't stop changing even at the end where she learns a devistating secret about her 'best friend' Billie. The supporting characters in Riff, Pheonix, Orbit and even the elderly Dragon help Nomad adjust to her new role and bring new dimensions to the story.
I loved the fast pace of the story and how much the author was actually able to put into the 324 pages that she wrote. I am looking forward to reading more about Agent Nomad and her friends and can't wait to see where the next adventure leads them.
