My Review
My thoughts on the book: All I can say is wow, You Were Mine cleared up so many questions that I had previously had throughout reading the Rosemary Beach series and quickly came to become my favourite book in the series. This was really surprising to me as I really love Rush and Blaire, Woods and Della and Grant and Harlow and I can't say that I really liked Bethy from the other books. But You Were Mine completely changed my outlook on both her and Tripp.
Told from the POV of both Bethy and Tripp, You Were Mine tells the back story of what had previously happened between the two and makes so much clear. We are taken on a journey through the past and the present and we also get to read about Woods and Della's wedding, which I really loved. Both Bethy and Tripp had a lot of issues that they both had to work through not only their own personal problems with themselves but also problems that they have had with each other. Their tumultuous relationship puts pressure on all the main characters that we have previously met and many feel that they have to choose a side. I don't want to give too much away so wont say too much more.
As with all Abbi Glines book's You Were Mine was way to quick and I can't wait to read the next book in the series and am not looking forward to when the series will end.
Favourite character: I absolutely loved Tripp in the previous books that he has appeared in and really enjoyed reading about his friendship with Della and how much he cared for her even though he wasn't her boyfriend or anything. Before You Were Mine we never knew why he left Rosemary Beach so suddenly and after reading the book we find out exactly why and it all makes so much sense. Tripp is a truly unique character who sincerely cares about basically everyone that he meets and when he meets 'the One' he makes sure that he never gives up on her no matter what, even if they hate his guts.
Favourite moment/quote:
“Things worth having don’t come easy,” Woods said. “You have to fight for it until you’re tired of fighting, and then you take a breather and fight some more.” He squeezed my shoulder. “Don’t give up. You’ll regret it.”
