Twisted Perfection review

Twisted Perfection

My future was about to be completely thrown off track because Della Sloane was under my skin, and I had to have her. I couldn’t ignore it anymore… I’d gotten close enough to her to see deeper.

Della Sloane is not your average girl. Yearning to break free of her dark and sheltered past and the memories of the illness that claimed her mother, Della plans a solo road trip to experience real life on her own terms. But the trip is nearly cut short in the little beach town of Rosemary when she realizes she can’t even pump her own gas- until Woods Kerrington shows up, more than willing to help out a pretty girl in need.

Wood’s family wants him to settle down with a wealthy woman in pearls, but he can’t resist this carefree girl in cutoffs passing through town. A one-night stand should have been enough, but months later, Woods can’t get the irresistible Della out of his head.

When a twist of fate brings Della back to Woods, all signs point to trouble if they don’t keep their distance. Neither is truly free, and a relationship could destroy both of them. With their hearts on the line, Della thinks the safest bet is to walk away. But Woods isn’t about to let that happen…

My review
Woods has had his life mapped out for him since he was born; marry Angelina Greystone so that the Kerrington and Greystone name can be linked and then take over the management of the club, well that is until one day while pumping gas he bumps into Della Sloane, a young girl passing through on her way to see the world. What was meant to be a hot and steamy one night stand turns into so much more. Neither Della or Woods can get that night or each other out of their heads and as fait steps in, they once again meet up after Della has some trouble at her old job. Now that they are working together are they able to put aside their thoughts and just be friends or is Woods willing to through everything that he has worked his whole life for away for the girl he thinks he is falling in love with.

Once again Abbi Glines you have written a perfect story that will be going front and centre of my bookshelf. I loved reading about Woods and Della in the Too Far series about Rush and Blaire, but am loving reading their story from their point of view in Twisted Perfection. Their chemistry is something that everyone strives to have and I hate to admit it but I think I am loving Woods and Della more than Blaire and Rush. They seem to trust each other so much with not only their physical self but also their mental self and that is something that a lot of people are unable to do. They tell each other everything and if a problem arises they work together to overcome it.

I like that Abbi has written Della as someone who has a lot of issues that need resolving. I hope that doesn’t sound mean but it certainly makes for a much more interesting character. Della seems so put together on the outside but on the inside she is fighting really hard to control her memories and to fight against turning out to be like her mother. I love that Woods would do anything to help Della overcome what has happened to her, even before he knew the whole story.

The only bit I didn’t like once again, as it seems to be with all Abbi’s books, is the cliffhanger of an ending. Even though we kind of know what happened through the Too Far series I can’t wait to jump into Simple Perfection when it comes out to really find out how it all went down. If you love Abbi Glines you MUST read this book.
