The Wizarding World journey continues...

The powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindlewald was captured in New Work with the help of Newt Scamander. But, making good on his threat, Grindlewald escapes custody and sets about gathering followers, most of whom are unsuspecting of his true agenda: to raise pure-blood wizards up to rule over all non-magical beings.

In an effort to thwart Grindlewald's plans, Albus Dumbledore enlists Newt, his former Hogwarts student, who agrees to help once again, unaware of the dangers that lie ahead. Lines are drawn as love and loyalty are tested, even among the truest friends and family, in an increasingly divided wizarding world.

My Review
Thoughts on the book: Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindlewald is the second original screenplay written in book form by J.K. Rowling. Newt Scamander and his friends are back and this time they are trying to recapture Grindlewald after he escapes custody when he is being transported from New York back to Europe. Newt, Jacob, Queenie and Tina all head to Paris to track down Grindlewald and make sure that he is recaptured. But when Grindlewald seems to be gaining followers and one of them looks to be switching sides will the good guys come out victorious?

Thank you so much to Klara from Hachette Australia for sending me a copy of Fantastic Beats: The Crimes of Grindlewald to read and review for you. Firstly I must tell you that book 1 and book 2 of Fantastic Beats look AAAmazing together. I love how different these books are to the Harry Potter novels and they read just beautifully. Being written as a screenplay means that I was finished this book so quickly that it felt like I had only just started it when I finished it. But it also makes it really hard to write a review because you don't want to give too much away. So I'm hoping this helps you.

I love Newt and how oblivious he is to everything but his animals and it was great to see some of his relationship with Dumbledore and the continuation of his friendship with Jacob who is just as oblivious when it comes to the people he loves. There were multiple times throughout the book where he simply didn't think of his own safety rushing in to a wizard fight or where there was a lot of magic around and he had no way to protect himself but didn't care and went running in to save the day. The ending though has me wanting book 3 right now.

(By the way I have not seen the movie yet).
