Corruption is the order for the day and Citra and Rowan need to stick together to fight it.

Then they are told that one of them will have to glean the other...

My Review
Thoughts on the book: Scythe is the first book in Neal Shusterman’s new dystopian series Arc of a Scythe. Imagine a world where there is no disease, no war, no politicans running the world, plenty of food and water for everyone, place for everyone in the world and if you get board with how your looking you can just upgrade to look different. The only way for you to die is by being gleaned by a Scythe, if you accidentally die you just revive hours or days later. Sounds perfect right?

A massive thank you to Walker Books Ustralia for allowing me to review and sending me a copy of Scythe. Scythe is a very thought provoking book which has you questioning whether a perfect world is actually achievable. In Scythe despite it being a perfect world people still aren't satisfied with life the way it is. Some people continually kill themselves to set records of how long it takes them to revive and some Scythe's believe that they shouldn't be held to a maximum number of killings per year, they should be able to kill whenever and wherever they want. It stand to prove that what some people might think I is a perfect world is actually infact so very far from someone else's perfect world.

I found the whole world and concept of Scythes that Neal Shusterman has created to be so interesting. To me being a Scythe seems to be one of the hardest things in the world. Trying to decide who you think should die next and how they should die would be so very hard and then having to face the victims family to grant them immunity would be one of the scariest things as well. You would look like one of the most awful people in the world because you took away someone they loved, be it their father, mother, brother, sister, grandparent, despite it being your job they won't get that. I found the process of becoming a Scythe so interesting and the challenges that they faced before becoming a Scythe were worthy to weed out the people who should be Scythes to the ones that shouldn't. It would be an incredibly hard job to become a Scythe, especially never being able to be in love or have a family of your own, and I am so glad I'm not one. I would lastly like to say that I loved how we got a snippet from one of the Scythe's diaries before each chapter that explained some of the hardships with being a Scythe. It's not all roses like everyone believes.

Question to finish did anyone else envision Scythe Faraday as being like Professor Dumbledore while reading Scythe? For some reason that's all I could ink of while reading it.
