Pearl Linford is stuck. Her best friend won't talk to her. The Internet thinks she is a murderer. And she's waiting for the right moment to forgive Finn Blacklin, but it never seems to come.

On top of this, Unseelie fairies have infiltrated her town, and they've unleashed a new horror- a bunch of wild, uncontrollable, angry supernatural hunters, who've made Finn number one on their hit list.

And you know what? That's a lot for one seventeen-year-old girl to handle. No wonder Pearl is so full of rage. A rage that might be drawing the attention of some very dangerous people.

My Review
Thoughts on the book: Jodi McAlister continues her amazing Valentine series with book 2 Ironheart. Pearl is coming to grips with what happened in book 1 and now has to face the reprocussions from what happened previously. Everyone believes that Pearl and Finn are murders and they are basically isolated from everyone now because of this including Pearl's ex best friend Phil. Now though the Unseelie and the Seelie are now after Finn as they now know he is the fairy they have been searching for and both will stop at nothing to take him, even enlisting the help of the most dangerous heartless riders who will rip his heart out and eat it. Pearl believes she is the one that can make everything stop and go back to normal and she will do everything in her power to make it come true. Faced with a cousin she doesn't know suddenly appearing in her life, a Seelie who believes she is Finn's future partner, the riders coming for his heart and her sudden overwhelming feelings for Finn can Pearl overcome it all and save everyone and everything she cares about?

Massive thank you to Tina from Penguin Teen Australia for my review copy of Ironheart. I absolutely adored Ironheart and loved it so much more than Valentine. Right from the get go I really got into the story and it didn't let me go the whole time. I didn't feel bored or like I wasn't quite getting the story like I did with book one and I literally couldn't put it down, I savoured every moment of it. I must admit though that I had to do a quick recap of what happened in book one as it was well over a year since I read Valentine and because I didn't like Valentine very much (except if I remember rightly the ending had me looking forward to book 2) I put off reading Ironheart which ultimately was a mistake. This just goes to prove that even if you didn't like the first book the second and subsequent ones may change your mind. I was so enrapt in this that when I got to the end I immediately emailed Tina and asked if there was a book 3 because no author should end a book that way (and in case you were wondering there is a book 3 coming out in early 2019 woohoo).

So here are some things that I loved about Ironheart. I loved the relationship that developed even more between Finn and Pearl and the way they just gravitate towards each other was so cute. Finn is the ultimate boyfriend and I think Pearl is one very lucky girl. The way he messages her every morning and just checks on her all the time is so sweet and you know he would do anything for her including touching iron. And that sexual tension between them is finally resolved, I mean the end of your existence might do that. I also really enjoyed learning more about the Seelie and Unseelie and the riders. We defiantly learn a lot more in book 2 and I think that's another reason why I really enjoyed it more. I now know what is going on and who is who. Although there were some amazing plot twists that I never saw coming, which of course I'm not going to mention you will just have to read it yourself.

So go and grab yourself this series if you haven't read it yet and be like me and many others wishing that 2019 would hurry up so we can have book 3.
